Day School at Atlanta Country Day grades 7-12. Atlanta Country Day School offers a college prep curriculum for students grades 7-12 Monday - Thursday. Classes are 6:1 student—teacher ratio which enables the teacher to give personal attention to each student.
We teach the academics, but also incorporate into the program study and organizational skills. In this way students learn and understand the importance of using these tools on a daily basis. ACDS offers a study hall so students can ask questions and start homework in class. As a result, students understand the homework and can ask questions before they go home, and the work completed in school minimizes students’ time spent on homework at home. It is the philosophy of ACDS that if a student can put in a solid 7-8 hour workday, that’s enough. Group and individualized classes are offered depending on the needs of the student. Delicious catered lunches are offered each day. Atlanta Country Day is very proud of the positive repoire students enjoy with the faculty and administration within a family type setting. An application and interview are required for admission.
Extended Day School
Extended Day program is offered by Atlanta Country Day School year round. It is an individualized program custom designed to meet the needs of each student. We have been offering this program for 35 years and have found it very successful for students who have failed a course in the past, want to get ahead in their academic career or for any reason have not been able to finish a semester at their existing school. It is also offered to students who are out of school and want to return to finish courses to obtain a high school diploma.
Each program is unique in that we can offer any core curriculum courses for grades 9-12 any time during the year. It is especially beneficial for seniors who have failed a first semester course and want to make that course up immediately so they can graduate on time and walk with their class. Each program is fully accredited. An appointment is required with the Headmaster to plan each program.
Atlanta Country Day School has been offering a full summer school program mornings and afternoons for 35 years. We offer all academic courses including foreign languages and lab sciences in a group or individualized one- on -one class Monday - Thursday. Students who have conflicts with the scheduled group classes may opt to take an individualized custom designed course. Classes are very small.
All information and forms for the summer school can be downloaded online or you can contact the school with any questions or concerns. An approval form from the student's current school must be filled out and signed by a school administrator to insure that the student is taking the correct course and it is approved by the school. Applications are accepted up until the day of the first class. A $50.00 deposit is required to hold the student's place.
As in the day school the summer school also enjoys the catered lunches (at an additional cost) as well as a positive relaxed atmosphere in the classroom..
