Drivers Education Atlanta Country Day School is pleased to announce that it will be offering Driver's Education and ADAP (Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program) classes starting this summer. The course will consist of thirty (30) hours of Driver's Education classroom instruction, four (4) hours of the State mandated ADAP classroom instruction, and six (6) hours of one-on-one driving instruction in a dual brake control vehicle with an instructor. The Classroom portion of the course will meet Monday - Friday from 8:30 A.M. till 3:30 P.M. for one week. The Driving portion will be scheduled individually in two (2) hour blocks. The course will be offered several times this summer. During the school year an evening and weekend schedule will be offered. Students must have their Learner's Permit to take the driving portion of the class, but may take the classroom part without a permit. Satisfactory completion of the course will qualify students for reduced insurance rates and a $150.00 State of Georgia Income Tax Credit for parents. The program fulfills the Joshua's Law requirements. ACDS will issue .5 Carnegie units of credit as an elective class. The total cost including the driving portion is $630.00.
